Community transport

The community transport service is delivered by two local experienced organisations, Stockport Car Scheme and Easy Go Community Transport. Transport is an important component which makes a huge difference to people’s quality of life particularly, as people age, become, less mobile or acquire, a physical or sensory disability.

Easy-Go Community Transport have adapted vehicles to accommodate different types of wheelchairs and Stockport Car Scheme has volunteer drivers using their own cars. Both organisations assist people to get into and out of premises and Stockport Car Scheme wait with them (if needed) and return them home.

The service is open to those who would struggle to use public transport and supports people to a range of places including day centres, social groups, visiting friends and family, to a clinic or to the hospital. Stockport Car Scheme can also take people to do their shopping and accompany them round the shop if needed. The service makes a real difference to people’s lives within the Stockport area helping isolated and lonely people get out into the community and taking the stress of transport away.

Please complete the forms below to enquire about help from the service.
