Peter is 87 and had been advised by an occupational therapist that a level access shower would meet his health needs however he wanted to consider a walk in bath as an alternative. The team went out to visit and after technical discussions, Peter agreed that a walk-in shower would be his best option and this work was organised.
During discussions with our liaison officer it became apparent that this Peter lived in isolation and had no surviving family. With Peter’s agreement the liaison officer arranged for a further joint visit with a local sheltered scheme manager. This resulted in Peter becoming involved in several activities with people of a similar age. A further referral was made to WIN Living Well in the Community who arranged for one of their team to initially accompany him to these activities.
